Now you have a list of keywords, and keyword phrases to target for your website, the next step is to find a suitable, relevant web address. Something relevant, catchy, memorable and importantly search engine friendly.

There is a simple way to find a keyword-rich, search engine friendly URL which will help greatly when it comes to ranking highly in search engines.

Probably the most efficient way to find your new URL is to use the www.GoDaddy.com bulk URL lookup which can be found on the bulk domain register web page.

You can search for URLs by simply copying and pasting your keywords and keyword phrases into the domain suggestion box, and also your chosen keyword phrases with the spaces replaced with ‘-’ (in notepad, choose ‘Replace’ then replace a ‘space’ with ‘-’) for example mygreatdomain and my-great-domain.

After you’ve done that, tick the three most popular extensions (com, net and org) and away you go (I personally don’t recommend any others if you’re after the most hits). The form lets you input up to 500 keywords or keyword phrases at a time, and it’s a very quick process.

If your chosen niche is a highly competitive one, you may find that a lot of the domain names are already taken, and the register will tell you which ones have already gone. If however you’re lucky you’ll be able to register a domain name which is also your chosen keyword or keyword phrase, and that will help a lot when it comes to ranking highly in the search engines!
